One of the advantages of choosing a banjo made in a small shop environment is the easy availability of customization. Huber Banjos offers our new owners the option of either customizing one of our stock models, or “designing your own dream banjo” from among the various wood and metal configurations, and the many inlays and appointments which we employ in our stock banjos.
Should you like the basic look of our Lancaster model, with its understated appeal, but prefer to see it with engraved, gold plated metal parts, we’d be happy to accommodate you. Suppose our Roanoke model grabs your attention, but you’d prefer it with the Hearts & Petals inlay – or love the VRB-G, but want it in walnut.. Any mix of our stock features can be combined as a custom banjo.
In some cases, the additional cost will be minimal, though major customization may involve higher fees. The main point, however, is that unlike many banjo builders, we encourage our customers to look for ways to make their new Huber unique and individualized.
We can’t promise that we can accommodate every imaginable custom Huber banjo concept you might envision, but we encourage you to contact us to discuss whatever you have in mind. Once we discuss your custom ideas, we can quote both a price and a delivery time.
When considering your options on a standard or custom Huber, you have a number of considerations: wood choice, headstock design, inlay, finish, plating, speed neck, binding style and neck width. You can mix and match any of these options, even if they are not found together on a stock Huber model to create your one-of-a-kind dream banjo.
