Nothing beats the old standby of maple and ebony when it comes to a banjo bridge. The “Grover® style” bridges have long been favored by owners of older banjos for the transparent tone they transmit. Steve made a few subtle refinements in the design and manufacture and the result is the Huber Banjo Bridge – the one installed on every new Huber banjo.
The Huber Bridge is made from 50 to 100 year old maple by Bryan Sims, exclusively for Huber Banjos.

I love it. I put a 11/16 standard spaced on my old TB150 conversion and it really opened it up.

These days there are more exotic and “mystery” wood bridges than you could shake a stick at. The .656 and 11/16″ bridges I ordered were flawless. I liked the tone of both and after numerous recording samples still love the sound of my original 5/8″‘ and the new ones. Transparency as Steve mentions, is the name of the game, IMO. If you have a great rim, great tone ring, and great setup with Huber engineering, put on a Huber bridge that lets those quality components shine.

I have used the Huber bridges several times and I like them very much, great sound.

I ordered an 11/16 Huber Bridge to raise the action on one banjo and switched my 5/8″ Huber bridge to my Gibson Mastertone. Now both banjos sing! Huber bridges are the best I’ve ever used in 37 years of playing…

The 5/8′ Huber bridge with standard spacing was just what I needed to complete the setup of my Huber banjo. The tone and playability are perfect! I now have an instrument that surpasses my 2 old Mastertones.

Love the Huber bridges. They really bring out the tone on my banjos!

Very smart design; the feet are a bit wider and transfer more energy into the resonator. It makes a huge difference and really opens up my Dow Wilbur!

I have a 2005 Gibson Style 5 that has been giving me fits for many years. I recently put on a calfskin head for the first time and mated it with a 5/8″ Standard Huber Bridge. The sound is now absolutely incredible; talk about “pop”. I would seriously put it up against Sonny Osborne’s Granada. In fact, I am so satisfied that I just purchased a second Huber bridge for my other Gibson.

I ordered 2-11/16 JD CROWE spaced. They are both simply excellent. Best I’ve used I believe.

Apparently, Steve uses a rare “voodoo” wood in his bridges, because they are the best bridges ever, allowing you to retire all your Snuffy bridges, previously thought to be the ideal. But no more. My Huber bridges are so incredible, I have been playing my banjos for 76 hours straight just to hear the sound. My fingers are killing me, but I just can’t stop!

This is my “go to” bridge since I first tried them a few years ago. I have one on all of my banjos, old and new. I really like the way it seemed to give a fuller voice to my PW conversion TB-1. Top quality product !

Huber bridges are hands down consistent in tone .
They work very well for the Pre-War setup and sound I desire .
I’ve tried other bridges that sound good but I find myself always going back to these Huber Bridges .
I own 3 Banjos and they all have a Huber Bridge on them .
